Renault and Nissan Shift production targets

The Nissan Motor Company, which is Japan’s third-biggest automobile manufacterer overall,  is in the process redesigning its leading March supermini model as a sort of cosortium with the French automobile manufacturer giant Renault SA (the biggest such producer in all of France). They are trying hard to appeal to those who are searching for a fuel-efficient ride. This economic news with a global impact comes on the heels of Nissan’s recent effort to move the facilities of the Micra, which is basically the March’s foreign version, from the United Kingdom to India within the next two years. All in all,  lot of these moves seem to be pure economic necessity. As an example, The global recession has not missed Japan’s automakers,  which in the last decade or so years had few problems selling their compact and fuel-efficient automobiles. Both Renault and Nissan have suffered deep cuts in new automobile orders, which has resulted in deep cuts lately in production and their global workforce. That trend does not appear likely to change any time soon as the America’s, Asia and the European Union continue to suffer from the global economic conditions which have been getting so much press as of late. One obvious reason for these particular troubles is that the world financial crises and resulting consumer credit crunch has made it much more difficult for first time automobile buyers. In addition, rising unemployment throughout much of the world has sharply decreased the number of people who are able to purchase a new automobile.

Renault delays plans for new Factory

I am in Hawaii again, putting on my press and writing hat again.
Here is some more unfortunate economic news which shows further evidence (if any was needed) of the global economic slowdown, which some have even described as worldwide meltdown of sorts.
The Renault Corporation has announced that is has put a project to build an automobile factory on the back burner for the time being. All in all, this was annouced as the auto manufacturing giant reported a
painful 6-month loss of €982 million ($1.27 billion), as contrasted with net income of €1.42 billion just a
year previous. In one bit of rather good news for a change, the firm in question did not announce any
further job cuts for the current year, although it will continue a plan started in 2008 to gradually cut
some six thousand or so from their worldwide payrolls via various voluntary means. Mr. Ghosn said the work force would be 120,000 by the end of 2009, compared with 129,000 at the end of 2008 Renault has also somewhat retooled their relationship with their Japanese partner Nissan. By the way if you are visiting Hawaii and needto find a first rate Hawaii Nissan dealer, here is a good one.
In recent months, Nissan has sought to move the facilities of the British isles to the subcontinent of India within the next several years or so, rouphly. CEO Ghosn has basically shoffled his management team.
For example, he has named a brand new global sales chief, a new sales director plus even a new leader of
quality & engineering.

Renault and Nissan Post some Discouraging Numbers

The global economic and financial crises continues to make it’s presence known on the worl’d main automakers. As
recent numbers show, the Big Three automakers of the united States are not the only manufactures to feel the impact in a
major way. Unfortunately, the Renault company today posted an almost eight percent drop (79%) in full-year net profit because of the severe fall in demand for vehicles and did not offer a specific financial forecast for this year. The French giant is targeting positive free cash flow by slashing inventories, temporary eliminating the dividend and several other key measures. In addition, they will be attempting to get more out of their alliance with Nissan.
All in all, the CEO gave a bearish forecast regarding worldwide sales for the coming year.
When in Hawaii I have noticed the local Hawaii Nissan dealership has been a bit bare of customers lately.
The Hawaii Nissan is generally a thriving operation here too. This is very perplexing to me:
The Nissan CEO won widespread kudos way back in 1999 for bailing Nissan out of near bankruptcy,
but his image has taken a bit of a hit lately as ther sales have been steadily decreasing.
As has been previously reported, Nissan has announced job cuts in the vicinity of twenty thousand positions worldwide. I am not yet sure how Hawaii will be affected by this downsizing wave. As the saying goes, may you live in iteresting times. I would say that we in fact are.

Renault Nissan Alliance records 1.1% drop in 2008

I just got back from Hawaii and wanted to get posting some news: The Nissan Renault Alliance has officially stated sales of 6,090,304 automobiles globally last year, which is a 1.1% fall from the 6,160,625 automobiles moved the year previous.
All in all, this downspike was due to a 4.1% decrease in sales at the Renault Group overall. Specifically,
Nissan Motor Co announced that it expects to post a group operating loss of JPY 180 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31st 2009. It is the second downward revision of the group’s profit projection for fiscal 2008.
the yearly loss will be Nissan’s initial one since Carlos Ghosn became the chief operating officer back in 1999, when the Renault Nissan alliance was initially established.
All of this comes at a point in time when French auto manufacturers will recieve government assistance and also at a time when there has generally been more operational cooperation
between Renault and Nissan, respectively. By the way if you ever visit Hawaii and want to check out a Hawaii Nissan dealer You can go here if you would like to reserve a vehicle at a Hawaii Nissan.
Meanwhile, in related news directly out of Japan, it was reported that shares shares of Nissan rose yesterday, just a day after they officially announced a majore restructuring
plan which includes cutting about twenty thousand or so positions overall within the outfit. This is obviously not great news for employment crises but pretty welcome news for many investors.
Nissan has already carried out a substantial amount of restructuring back in 1999, when they initially partnered with their French counterpart Renault. Because of that, there is not a lot of excess weight left to cut at this time.

According to Detective Rick Cobb of the Riverside Police Department police officers found a man sitting in a blue Ford in vicinity of the 10000 block at Campbell Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Riverside Police Officers the man had been driving the vehicle when a person outside of the vehicle shot him.  Police also feel the person that shot the gun fled after the shooting took place. Will Fat Injections Be Used Next For Breast Augmentation

Going to San Diego but before I do I want to switch gears a bit and change the subject a bit and sicuss the topic of Breast augmentation. There may be yet another way that numerous women will be able to enjoy receiving the benefits of having firmer and larger breasts that so many women have already been going under the knife to receive.  Every single day thousands of women all around the world opt for the choice they have available to them in the cosmetic procedure of having breast implants or Breast augmentation.  Is there another type of procedure that these women will have the benefit of selecting by injecting their own fat into their breast tissue?

Numerous plastic surgeons have found that a woman’s very own fat that can be used for injecting it into her breasts has been working rather well for touch-up procedures being performed after she has had reconstructive breast surgery.  This particular procedure has been used for a number of years. Incidentially live in San Diego and you need a great San Diego Breast augmentation surgeon then may I recommend Dr. Susan Kaweski as she is certainly one of the better San Diego Breast augmentation experts out there. She can help you not only in San Diego but other areas also.  Now there are further studies that are in the planning stages to decide if this very same method of injecting fat into the breasts can in fact be used for complete breast augmentation.  These tests will however have to be completed before it can be proven as being an effective means of breast augmentation.  Up to this point these fat injections have only been used for limited areas of the breast to soften-up the appearance of these particular areas after augmentation surgery has already been performed.  These injections have also been used to help the damaged tissue in women who have received a lumpectomy and radiation procedures.  Breast augmentation has certainly come a long way since its initial introduction and this very well could be the next step.

More High Speed Pursuit News

In Philadelphia this fall, two officers, in unrelated police pursuits, were killed in collisions.

In September, a high speed pursuit left  Officer Isabel Nazario dead and Officer Terry Tull  seriously injured.  While pursuing a joyriding teenager (possibly dui related), police T-boned their cruiser in Mantua.
Just last month, Sgt. Timothy Simpson died when a man trying to elude police broadsided Simpson’s cruiser in Port Richmond.  Someoen is going to need a good lawyer for that one. The price of tragedy can be marked sometimes, not only in money and the loss of life but in the loss of potential life.

Darnell Bennett was fourteen years old when a Yeadon man fleeing police on a red Honda motorcycle, hit him on May 15, 2003. Bennett was walking home from school when McDuffy struck him causing permanent brain-damaged and crippled. At the deposition and in an interview last week, McDuffy first caught his attention at Bouvier Street and 66th Avenue, where Sweeny, a five-year veteran, was patrolling what he described as a “well-known drug location.”

Sweeney testified at the deposition that he believed that the motorcycle had been stolen, although he couldn’t specify why. And although McDuffy wasn’t speeding, Officer Sweeney reports that he was “driving in circles” and wasn’t wearing a helmet, which then was illegal. As reported in the previous article The countrywide average of people killed by police pursuits per day was 368 last year (Fatal Analysis Reporting System). Some cities like Seattle and Los Angeles have very bad numbers in this regard. many of these incidents are dui related.

After the collision, Darnell Bennett spent a month in a coma. After he came out of the coma, he spent an entire year recovering from broken bones and head trauma in area hospitals and rehabilitation centers.  By the way if you live in Seattle and need a superb Seattle dui lawyer then I would like to recommend the offices of Blair/Kim as they are among the top Seattle dui lawyer you can find.

Bennett has had multiple surgeries and ongoing physical therapy to improve his mobility, Currently he uses a cane to get around, but he falls so much that his neurologist predicts he’ll eventually have to use a wheelchair

High Speed Pursuit Takes Lives

I am going to Los Angeles shortly and wanted to get some writing in first: The national average of people fatally injured by police pursuits per day — an alarming 368 last year. according to the federal Fatal Analysis Reporting System. It also reflects a lot of criminal activity in general.

In Philadelphia, two police officers have died and fifty-nine other people have been injured as a result of police pursuits this year. Charles H. Ramsey, Police Commissioner, has decided, instead of being in defense of this, that the department’s pursuit policy needs change and plans to do so next month.

Philadelphia’s original 1994 policy , allows pursuits to nab someone suspected of committing a violent felony, to apprehend someone with a deadly weapon who used or intends to use it, and to recover a stolen car -if the driver breaks traffic laws to elude arrest. California in general and Los Angeles in particular are among the leading areas for this kind of death. Of course part of the reason is the fact that most people drive in Los Angeles and the fact that there is a lot of criminal activity generally there, with all the gangs and so on. it is no defense, just an observation.

The new policy outlines that pursuits will be justifiable in only two cases: if it will potentially prevent someone’s death or serious injury; or if a pursuit is necessary to apprehend someone who committed, or attempted to commit, a violent felony or who possesses a deadly weapon. By the way if you need a  Los Angeles criminal defense attorney then you should give Ramiro Luis a call. He is a first rate Los Angeles criminal defense attorney and he also services other nearby localities..

Nationally, pursuit policies are being amended and changed to reflect a more stringent approach, with some police departments banning them altogether and others allowing officers to pursue only known violent criminal offenders.

Despite statements often made by police officers in defense of it, some (but not all) of the nation’s leading experts on police pursuits say that there are two deep-rooted myths that should be corrected:

“Police say: ‘If we don’t chase, everybody’s going to run.’ That’s just not true. Most people do stop,” said Geoffrey Alpert, a criminal-justice professor at the University of South Carolina who co-authored the book “Pursuit Driving: What We Know.”

Auto Accident Leaves Infant in Critical Condition

I just got back from San Francisco so it is time to get writing once again. A one-month-old boy remains in critical condition at University Medical Center late Tuesday evening following a two-vehicle collision last week in which he was ejected from a car. Payden Martin was thrown through the back window of the vehicle in the Dec. 9 collision at Valley View and Main Street.

All in all, the infant has a severe head personal injury in this tragic case. Samaria Shumake, 16, was also ejected from the back seat of a black Chevrolet Cavalier at approximately12:20 p.m. in front of the Valley View Shopping Center. She was ater released from a hospital, the authorities said. By the way if you happen to live in either San Francisco or perhaps the greater Oakland-frisco area and you require a wonderful San Francisco personal injury lawyer then may I suggest the superb law offices of Steve brady. he is an elite level San Francisco personal injury lawyer and can help you with a wide array of different cases.

The car, driven by Tamaria R. Shumake, 20, collided with a 1998 Ford F-150 driven by Dustin R. Kilpatrick,. Shumake told authorities that she saw the oncoming truck but thought she had time to get across the five lanes.

The two were ejected from the car along with a child restraint seat which police officers found in the street, a police incident report said.Shumake said she didn’t have the base to the child seat in the car because the baby didn’t like it, the report said.

The accident remains under investigation, the police chief said. It should be interesting to see what other details come out in this rather shocking and disturbing personal injury related case.

Street Violence in Philadelphia

In October, Samantha Houston told her mother that she was moving into a North Philadelphia house with Amin Payne. Trena Houston cautioned her daughter to be careful. She was concerned about Armin Payne’s reputation and arrests for shootings causing personal injury, robbery and drug use. Payne’s enemies soon discovered his new address, a two-story rowhouse in the 3300 block of Mutter Street.

A little after 5 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008, police said, two gunmen barged into the house where Samantha Houston, Payne, and their two boys were asleep. Firing into the bed, they caused serious personal injury to Payne, 20, the target of their attack, who escaped out a second-floor window.

Samantha Houston, 19, was fatally wounded and died less than an hour later. The couple’s eldest son was shot twice in the back.  The 3-year-old had apparently crawled into his parents’ bed during the night. Amir, their one year old, who was sleeping in a separate bed, did not suffer personal injury. The death and the severe injuries in this incident demonstrate the far reaching street violence that accounts for most of the nearly 2,000 shootings and 321 homicides recorded in Philadelphia so far this year. Although Samson, 3, survived, one of the bullets damaged his spinal cord. Doctors said he would likely spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. By the way if you require a good Philadelphia personal injury lawyer  then I suggest Mark S. Rosenberg. He can help you with quite an assortment of cases involving various injuries. In my opinion he is one of the better Philadelphia personal injury lawyer working in the land of Rocky balboa today.

The day after he was shot, Payne was arrested on outstanding warrants including a charge of aggravated assault for allegedly firing five shots into a woman’s house last December. He was also charged with attempted murder, robbery and assault. Payne is a real scumbag, in my personal opinion.
